Late Dn . Yakubu Nyam Afan has been buried him at the age of 98 years old, amid the celebration of life and times of a visionary Izere traditional combined with missionary service.

 

The Reverence in Charge of Baptist Church Lamingo  Gwanfan, Rev. Yakubu Akfi has described the Late Ada Deacon Yakubu Nyam Afan (a.k.a Aragon) as a pillar of humiliating and a man full of receptive in nature who sacrifice a lot to accommodate other children including members of the community.

 

He said the contributions of late Ada Yakubu Nyam to the field of evangelism can never be ignored, so we are calling on children to emulate baba’s quality of lifestyle of promoting peaceful coexistence amongst the state and the nation.

 

The son Comrade James Arin Nyam who read the biography of late Ada Yakubu Nyam says, life was breathed into a destiny child named Nyazi Afan Abok in 1922 in the family lineage of Atukop Afan Abok of Afukarnya clan in Gwanfan village in the present Gwanfan district in Jos North Local Government Area and Aka pindoh After of Durbi extraction in the present Jos East LGA all in Plateau state in North-Central Nigeria.

 

He had a younger sister from his mother’s womb beside his two older siblings born to a different father, whom he shared a strong bond until they all shortlived him.

 

According to him, born into a peasant background, the late Ada Yakubu Nyam was not different from his parents, therefore, as a young boy was not privileged to enroll in the search for western education in the beginning as his contemporaries in other parts of the colonial enclave called Nigeria.

 

However, he was then trained to practice the Afizere traditional school where children were taught the rudiments of hardworking, dedication, and commitment through farming, hunting, and other meant of generating income.

 

Nyam says, our late father as Afizere traditional worshipper continues to practices their faith until God miracle touched his lifestyle from polygamy to a change Christian faithful.

 

The late Ada Deacon Yakubu Nyam Afan left the following children, Mrs. Abi John Azi (daughter), Mrs. Mary Aware Atang (Daughter) Mr. OSHA Isaiah Nyam (son) Mr. Azi Nyam (son) Mr. Izang Nyam (son) Mrs. Rhoda Adoh Izang (daughter) Hon Dr. Philip Izang Nyam (son) Comrade James Nyam (son) Mrs. Esther Atong Atsi (daughter) Mrs. Anap Nyam (daughter ) with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, uncles, cousin, nephews, nieces among several others.

 

Rev Akfi stated that today Christian are paying lips service not worthy of emulation, we should also realize that Christ came to free the world from this satanic worship of wickedness but we refuse to change our ways.

 

He tasked the Christian faithful to demonstrate love and understanding in their daily conduct because God visits each and every one in different ways reading the scripture in the Book of Psalm 39:4 where he urged the congregation to respect and live a legacy of Lord Jesus Christ teaching.

 

 

Rev Akfi cautioned the Christian faith not to discriminate against one another by treating people equal before God because the manner in which some of our clergy and spiritual fathers are behaving doesn’t tally with the message of our Almighty God.
