The Plateau State, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Joshua Ubandoma Laven has disclosed that politicians trooping into the family of the first civilian Governor of Plateau State, Late Solomon Daushep Lar now abandoned the wife, and children to their fate.
Laven made this known during the visit of the Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo to the residence of Lar’s at Beach Street Jos North Local Government Council on Wednesday 17th January 2024.
He said that the statesman’s visit to his contemporary Baba Lar from the middle belt and Afenifere struggle had brought so much happiness to the family as he said,” This is more than Lar’s resurrection from the grave because what we are learning now is the spirit of statesmanship.
“The coming and seeing the widow of one time, first Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that was abandoned to her fate is one of the comforts the family drives from the Yoruba leader”, he said.
According to Joshua, on the incessant attacks, we advised our people to stop crying and wearing black attires that, we must take the fight to those that sneak into our homes in the middle of the night to kill our innocent people.
We must wake up to the reality of this life and face our enemies without fear or intimidation.
Meanwhile, In her welcome address to the Afenifere leader, Prof. Mary Lar used the opportunity to thank Pa, Ayo Adebanjo for coming home, “this is your second home, your friend home the emancipator of the people of Middle Belt and we are highly honored to have a person of your caliber coming to visit us”.
Prof. Lar thanked God that even at the age of 95 years Pa Ayo Adebanjo you are still very active, you came to comfort us and renew our hope and friendship shared with the great emancipator.
She said,” Baba Lar gave me a message in his sick bed to Nigerians to continue to maintain unity across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
According to her, the major problem of Nigeria is injustice, if there is no justice there won’t be peace, this is not the Nigeria we fought for independent of all the Ethnic groups in the country are crying.
Lar lamented that at least the Supreme Court had salvaged and restored our judicial system to return the people to the path of democracy.
She tasked Nigerian leaders to stop pursuing wealth and leave for other people just like my husband didn’t amass wealth, we have only one house in Jos and a bungalow in Langtang that all my husband left behind.
However, today it is good news how many people are visiting to greet us even with the absence of my husband, Chief Solomon Daushep Lar years ago.
