The Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council of Plateau State , Barr. Zulfa Rimven has charged the Tarok Speaking Natives of North-Central Nigeria to stay clear of politicizing the principle of land sharing formula of our custom and tradition of the “Ngwan Ishi Otarok “, we are one people despite our diversity in clans that spread across the Plateau senatorial districts.

Zulfa disclosed this during a stakeholder meeting with the Commissioner of Police, CP  Bartholomew  Oyeka in Jos on Monday during a stakeholders with the Executive Chairmen of 17 LGAs at the officer mess.

He warned against some miscreants perpetrating crime in the state, saying that those who are perpetuating an act of insecurity in villages are not ghosts but they’re those people that leave amongst us, and plus and minus they leave with us either as our brothers.

Rimven explained further that since the criminal elements leave with us they’re not ghost due that we have engaged the traditional rulers to fish them from the immediate communities down to their family and hand them over to security agencies because every mischief-maker come from tribes or particular religious and with the development the meeting is yielding positive result.

He stressed that as chief security officers of their respective Local Governments, we must work hard to curtail the excess and the rising insecurity in villages.

According to him, the stakeholders meeting held in Wase LGA between the three LGAs’ traditional rulers was to ensure that farmers go back to the farm without any problem of herders/farmers clashes in Langtang North and South respectively.

Zulfa emphasized that the three LGAs Chairmen converge in Wase LGA to curtail the lingering crises spreading from Wase into the two neighboring LGAs of Langtang North, South by assuring them that at the end of the stakeholders meeting, we are gradually witnessing relative peace as rain set in now.

He advised that the traditional rulers from the affected communities are not strangers to the culture and tradition of the Tarok clan sharing formula and the crises between the Kumbur and Ndinjur were brought under control owing to the mechanism of engagement used to calm the situation down.

We introduce table dialogue with those that are directly affected by bringing them to a round table through their heads and the meeting moved to Tim Tali Motel in Langtang North LGA where we invited herders and farmers on meaningful issues of fostering unity and love amongst them.

Rimven Zulfa added that the sole aim of the shifting meeting was to promote peaceful coexistence and harmony and we should understand that the Tarok have a very rich culture and tradition which they are answerable to their Ponzhi Nbin of their own clan.

However, there is the principle of sharing of land and everyone knows his own demarcation and why our people are politicizing the exercise, we don’t have to do so because this is a complete departure from the norm and value of our tradition, he said.
