The Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council, Hon. Joshua Ubandoma Laven has commended Governor Simon’s Bako Lalong for constructing a flyover bridge at British American Junction linking the University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, to decongest the traffic logjam in the area.
Speaking during his parley with Media Executives, in Jos, Ubandoma Laven applauded the positive contributions of journalists in shaping the politics in Nigeria.
He said,” I can’t imagine seeing journalists going through harsh economic situations during the present regime.
Joshua Ubandoma disclosed that the role play by media in promoting the tenets of democracy can’t be overemphasized, we see that they have added beauty to his popularity as council chairman in Nigeria and across the globe custody of their objective reportage.
He reiterated that what drew him closer to journalists in Plateau state in building cordial working relationship which he has enjoyed for over the years through objectivity and balanced reports .
Hon. Ubandoma decried the introducing of cabals into the Nigeria politics of governance by appealing to government at all level to carry everyone along .
According to him ,the autonomy granted the local governments in Nigeria is just a paper work under the APC regime ,because if without the intervention of the Nigeria media the whole exercise will turn into mirage “.
Joshua Laven revealed that the insecurity in Plateau state is no longer news, but that the state and Federal government should take proactive measures like the way and manner alarm was raised, that some people are planning to attack Tarok nation which was aired and many innocent souls were saved.
However, I have first-hand information about the purported plan ahead, which today many councils were victims when we kept discussing it at the security meetings and nothing was done about it .
He called on citizens to support Lalong administration as he is gradually introducing people oriented projects that can touch the lives of the people of the state .
Laven urged the federal government of Nigeria to allow freedom of information to flow under the present democracy not to allow the country democracy collapse .
