How Lalong Massively Embezzled Local Governments Funds, PDP Alleges

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has been accused of embzelling of Local Government funds by the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau, according to the party the Governor’s alleged embezzling Local Governments funds has caused untold hardship to primary school teachers and Local Government staff who have been for several months without salary.

Addressing a press conference at the PDP secretariat yesterday, the State party’s Chairman, Hon. Damishi Sango said the governor use the management committee chairmen to siphoned money meant for the payments of staff of the local governments within his one year in office.

“We state here very confidently that, we are also very much in the know of the massive diversion of Local Government funds by the APC government in Plateau state, “he explained.

According to him, the three tiers of government in Plateau state are facing difficulties in the payment of their staff and cannot cope with smooth administration at that level

“We wish to alert Plateau that the situation could get worse in the months ahead with Local Staff being owed up to a year wages”, he added.

Sango complained bitterly that, gov Lalong is selling off the dignity and inheritance of the people of Plateau on the altar of seeking for personal relevance from Abuja in the name of a clearly rejected grazing reserves policy.

He warned that, as he asked: ‘Lalong who did you consult? Does APC have any land in Plateau, we advise that he should dialogue with the appropriate elders of the land to avoid double strategies and misleading agenda.

The Chairman said the APC administration is unprepared, incompetent and rudderless, totally lacking in capacity and seriousness in governance.

In his quest to embark on world tourist site, the accused the government of the day of lavishing over N300 Million naira in each overseas trips and the chairman said when calculated by 9 the state is already indebted to billions, he noted.
