Lalong Laid Wreath To Unknown Soldier, Commends Military For Their Resilience

Governor Simon Bako Lalong on Sunday has laid a wreath on foot of Unknown Soldier in remembrance of the Nigerian Army who has sacrifice   towards consolidation of harmonious peaceful coexistence.

Lalong made this known during the 2017 armed forces remembrance launch Day and Emblem Appeal launch at the foot of a Nigerian soldier, Joseph Gwomwalk secretariat round about.

The governor perform the laying of wreath ,it was followed by  the speaker plateau state house of assembly Honorable Peter Azi ,chief judge of plateau state Pius Damulak ,the (GOC),3rd Armored Division JOS major General PJ Dauke, Commander ,Nigeria Air Force station Jos, Commissioner of police, plateau state command, commandant ,Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other senior military and paramilitary serving and retired officers.

Lalong after the inspection of guard of Honour, also released pigeons to signifies the return of peace and unity of the state and the country at large.

He commended the Nigerian military for their fighting against the Boko Haram insurgents in the North -East which is recording great success in the return of peace.

“All common-Wealth countries celebrate the 11th November (11/11) each year to honour the military men that laid down their lives during the world wars, he noted.

According to him, “It is in view of this that Nigeria holds its own celebration every January 15th and this tally with our historical development. This celebration is not only unique but it is to every Nigeria as we use this golden opportunity to pay tributes to our Armed Forces and indeed other members of the security agencies who have laid down their lives in Defence of the unity of this country as a result of the current security challenges that have bedeviled our dear country”.

Briefing newsmen after the Wreath laying ceremony, Lalong express excitement with resilience of men of the armed forces especially in respect to the security situation in the recent years.

He said:  “We are also celebrating the return of the Chibok girls that captured from the Boko Haram and the complete takeover of the Sambisa forest.

“We are using this message to congratulate president Muhammadu  Buhari (GCFR) to show our gratitude to armed forces with the protection and  ensuring that we have peace in the state and the country .

He said his administration accord priority to support the security agencies in their discharge of official duty.

Lalong express satisfaction with the security operative in hosting the armed forces remembrance day because president is commitment to current struggle, adding, his hard-working and assurance to take care of the families of the fallen Heroes cannot be compromise .
