A Gubernatorial aspirant of the People Democratic Party for the 2019 General election, Barrister Timothy Parlong has started that the cancellation of council elections earlier scheduled for February 17 by Governor Simon Bako Lalong shows a total absence of democracy in Nigeria.

Parlong was speaking to some selected Journalists at his office in Jos, said the decision to postpone the councilor and Chairmanship election was a regrettable action because when the state witnessed crises during former Governor Jonah Jang government, it was only Jos North and Wase LAGs election that were suspended.

He explained that the governor should not have called for the cancellation of the election in the 17 local government councils, “we have critically taken a look into its but his action didn’t warrant that.

Parlong noted that the government should have think of allowing the election to go on but suspend in few local governments and I don’t belief people today will be attacking his personality.

He accused Governor Simon Lalong of dissolving elected Chairmen and fails to conduct free and fair election to usher in new or may be APC believe that they are not the popular party in Plateau state.

According to him, the fear of losing the grassroots political force shows why they government are still dribbling the people, “Nigerian are suffering owing to insecurity, safety of human lives which cannot be guaranteed under the APC regime.

He lamented the herdsmen killings all over the country which he said is gradually making the APC an unpopular government and people are afraid to vote them because of security challenges ravaging the country.

Parlong said this is government that pride itself as government that is incorruptible but today people cannot move freely.

He called on PDP supporters in Plateau state to remain calm but he condemned those evil men using their power to perpetrate all manner of crimes in the country.
