Lalong Dissolves LGA Chairmen, DPM Takes Over, Appoints Head Of Service

Simon-Lalong-264x300The Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has dissolved all the 17 local government councils in Plateau state and appointed Mrs Hulda Fwangchi head of service Plateau state.

The appointment took immediate effect from the day announcement, as he said in accordance with exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Edict establishing the Local Government Council Administration in the State.

He has approved the dissolution of the Seventeen (17) Local Government Councils in the State owning to party pressure.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to State Government, Hon. Rufus Bature, the Governor directs all the dissolved Chairmen of Councils; all Members of the Executive Arm, Councillors and other Political Appointees to hand over all government properties in their possession to the Directors of Personnel Management (DPM) of the Seventeen (17) Local Government Councils.

All security operatives in the various Local Governments and particularly the DPOs and members of the various Labour Unions in the Local Governments are to ensure that all government properties are secured in the custody of all the Directors of Personnel Managements in line with this directive.

In a similar development the Executive Governor – Rt. Hon.Simon Bako Lalong has also approved the appointment of Mrs Hulda Fwangchi as the New Head of Civil Service of the State; until her appointment, Mrs Hulda Fwangchi was a Permanent Secretary with the Plateau State Government and she replaces Mr. Ezekiel Dalyop who until now was the Head of Service of the State.

The Governor of Plateau State thanks all members of the dissolved Local Government Councils of the State and the out-gone Head of Service of the State for their selfless service and wishes them the best in their future endeavour. The Governor further assures them that their wealth of experience would be relied upon as time and opportunity avails in the course of governance.

Also in a related development, the Youth wing of apex Plateau umbrella body, Plateau youth movement has expressed displeasure over appointments made so far by Governor Simon Lalong-led administration.

The organization, operating under the auspices of Plateau Youth Movement, PYM , therefore, urged Governor Simon Lalong to carry every section of state along in making appointments.

PYM said it is peeved by what it described as some sectional appointments so far made by the governor, stressing that appointments should be spread among the 53 tribes and three geo- political zones of the state.

The group in a statement signed by state coordinator , Made available to our correspondent, noted that the appointments was against the principle of state.

“It is wrong for the Governor to have so far appointed people from only one Local government, research,Head of service ,directors of press were the deputy governor came from .

“We are worried at the manner of appointments so far made by Simon Lalong, which has so far been concentrated in the Plateau central.

“We wish to remind the Governor that there are well qualified and trustworthy people in every geo political zone.

“We hope Governor Lalong is not acting out a script”.

“The earlier he allays fears of other citizens about the manner of appointments, the better for the nation.

PYM , recall that the concentration of appointments in one political zone has always caused trouble in Plateau .

“We want Governor Simon Lalong  to live by his words that he belongs to everybody” it stated
