Lalong Approves The Appointment 3 More Judges, Commissions Multi-Million Edifice

lalongGovernor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has approved the appointment of additional three judges to help in easy dispensation of justice in Plateau state.

Governor Simon Lalong made this disclosure on Thursday while commissioning of state High court  in Jos North local Government Area of Plateau at west of mines.

However, Plateau state government has spent over 26,932,753.000 under direct Labour for the renovation of High Court, west of mine Jos, Plateau state.

He tasked the judiciary staffs to be forthright, dedicated, just, fair and be accountable to conscience and law in the dispensation of justice.

“We are driving the judiciary with great determination to pursue the welfare of staffs and renovation of all the courts in the state”.

Lalong promised to restore, remodel and develop confidence in the judicial system for better service delivery toward redeeming the state loss glory of system.

Nigerian Barr Association, Chairman Bar. Latep Dafer represented by Ralph Monye urged government its priority in rebuilding of deplorable damage courts litter across the 17 local governments in the state.

He applauded governor for the transformation taken place within the judiciary in the state so that it will meet up the international standard which was constructed by the late Solomon Daushep Lar who is a lawyer in 1983 and was abandoned since then.

According to him, this developmental strive been witness today in the state will stand out among the states to enjoy the business of law practice within the temple of justice.

Dafer decried the deplorable stage of courts on the Plateau by appealing to Lalong government to help them dispense justice in accordance with the rules of law.

The Chairman of JUSUN ,Bar .Gabriel Mutuudai expressed sadness that over 300 members are still walloping in for months without salary since the strike was call off .

He appealed to Governor Simon Lalong to urgently address the plight of those affected members and end their long suffering.

Mutuudai called on the government to focus more on the rehabilitation of High court in Shendam, Mangu which had been neglected there for years without attention.

He expressed satisfaction with the appointment of additional three judges in the state but sued for customary High, Sharia High court respectively.
