Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has ordered the prohibition of activities of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary School; this was contained in a press statement signed by the Head of Service, Thomas Ari Ogiri.
The statement averred that the activities of ASUSS poses serious threat to peace and order in the state, the prohibition take effect from 12th, May 2017.
It further read that the activities of ASUSS would incite Secondary School Teachers against the state government through radio announcement, press release and bulletin.
The statement stated that the activities of the Union prevent workers of Secondary School in the state from performing their lawful duties.
The statement also read that ASUSS disrupt the conduct of JAMB, NECO, and BECE (JSSS 3) examination in the state.
They accused the Union for driving away workers from duty post, the state government described ASUSS as an unregistered Trade Union.
