Labaran Maku, the immediate past minister of Information has commended the Nigeria press for the sacrifice they exhibited in balance reporting.

He stated this during a press briefing held at the family compound of PA Akwashiki Ezhim at Alushi, Nasarawa Eggon local government Areas.

The former federal cabinet member under the People’s Democratic Party described the press as an embodiment of democracy and the true voice for the voiceless.

Appealing to members of the fourth estate of the realm to be steadfast in the carrying out of their responsibilities.

Urging Journalists to use the Freedom of Information Act 2011 as a veritable tool to access Information as well check executive excesses of state governors and political appointees at all levels.

“Without your support we won’t be where we are today, for that reason I applauded you considering the risk involved in the discharge of your duty”.

“I sincerely appreciate you for honoring my invitation come rain and sunshine”.
