Two pilgrims from Nasarawa state that were detain and humiliated by the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were paid N2m as compensation,the Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,Abdulrazak Mohammed has said.
The Pro in an online interview said the pilgrims whom were all Fulani’s did no harm but were put into custody before they were handed over to official of the National Hajj Commission.
“The governor of Medinah visited our hotel accommodation and apologized on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and money equivalent to N2m was paid as compensation to the victims”.
“That is each of the victim would be given N1m as compensation”.
“Again the authority after a thorough investigation revealed that the 2 pilgrims were just maltreated and were released on that same day, he added.
The Public Relations Officer said.
