In supporting the activities of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACC), the Ambassador of Ecuador H.E Leopold Rovayo Verdesoto wish to share with his media friends the keynote address by the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment Hajia Aisha Abubakar; at the opening ceremony of the 11th Abuja International Trade Fair, held at J.T Useni ACC International Trade Fair Complex, KM 8, Airport Road, Abuja, on 27th September, 2016 with the theme: MAKE IT IN NIGERIA.
Stating the importance of the Trade Fair, she said ‘the fair is intended to provide a platform for investors to net-work within the region as well as the world both public and private sectors and the event is apt to Nigeria Industrial revolution plan whose objective is to diversify our economy’’.
In promoting the inflow of foreign capital, the Minister said Nigeria should undertake measures to mitigate the lingering negative image Nigeria has acquired abroad by using and promoting our own inputs to produce our goods.
She also noted that vast majority of developed and developing countries rely on dynamism, resourcefulness and risk taking of small and medium enterprises to trigger and sustain process of economic growth.
Adding that it was pertinent for the general public to know that the Government in a bid to develop and promote the activities of small and medium enterprise, has expanded the number of the participating agencies in the Nigeria Enterprises Development Programme (NEDEP) to include Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Standard Organization of Nigeria and Corporate Affairs Commission.
