Keffi Residents In Jittery  Over  The Disappearance Of Car Theft Informant

Keffi residents are jittery over the sudden disappearance of a prime suspect who was identified as the informant to the dear devil of armed robbers and terrorist people within the Government Reserve Area which was said to be a haven for all sorts of crime and criminalities.

With the arrest of car theft syndicates in October last year, residents of Keffi in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have seen sight of relief in GRA which was prone to intermittent attacks and miscellaneous crimes, The residents of Keffi GRA are sleeping currently with their two eyes close.

However, some of the residents raised concerns about the whereabouts of the culprits and their accomplices who were first taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department(SCID) in  Lafia.

We want the security agencies to take decisive actions against them, and by so doing some evil merchants in Keffi GRA have gone to hiding especially the popular informant to the armed robbers.

One of the victims who spoke on condition of anonymity told Universal Reporters in Keffi  that he was robbed on 22/10/2023 at about 1:20 am  in his residence at Keffi GRA, where the armed robbers snatched away his Toyota Corolla 2010 model at gunpoint as he sustained a severe matchet cut

Explaining his ordeal, he said I was able to track the car and the culprits were apprehended by soldiers at the Angwan Tofa Military Checkpoint, at around 1:50 am on that faithful morning.

” He listed the gang of the car theft to include  Mohammed Baba and Labaran Aliyu, who were later handed over to the police in Lafia.

” I worry that I was not communicated when the criminals were later taken from Lafia into the Nigeria Correctional Service in Keffi, this leaves me with great worries”

” as I gathered that a few days before they robbed me, these same persons robbed and snatched a car belonging to another resident of Keffi including an army officer, and were arrested but one can not imagine how they got away from the hands of the security without being jailed” He cried out”.

Residents of Keffi who knew about the unabated act of these criminals told reporters that the kingpin behind the car theft in keffi is one Bashir Ta’udor, who resides at Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area and was on the wanted list of security agencies is presently in Niger Republic.

According to the source, since the arrest of Muhammad Baba and Labaran Aliyu, cases of car theft in Keffi has stopped , but added that ” they may not stay too long in their detention as this is not the first time they are being arrested for same crime” The source alleged.

When contacted the Nasarawa State Police Command Spokesperson DSP Ramhan Nansel said there is no way a suspect will be taken to prison without being arraign in court for prosecution.

” And in respect of this case, I am assuring you that the police had played their role by charging the culprit to court, So due processes where followed which is a known fact that police arrest, detent,investigate and charge to court” He added.

Sources told Universal Reporters Online that an informant of the dreaded gang of criminal Bashir Ta’udor was at large.

Unconfirmed sources revealed that GRA recorded over 17 cases of car robbery cases in Keffi,Adding  that since the arrest,Car theft and snatching has reduced to the barest minimum since the arrest in October,2023.

Only time shall tell,whether the three man gang are in police net or were at large as alleged by the publics.
