Kano First Lady Hints At Murtala Sule Garo As Her Husband’s Likely Successor In 2023

Kano State First Lady and wife of Kano State Governor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje has described has said that the likes of Kano State  Commissioner for  Local Government of Murtala Sule Garo should succeed her husband’s after leaving office as governor of Kano state.

The First Lady popularly called Goggo  Stated this at a public function in Kano state. Mrs. Ganduje she described Garo’s effort of choosing local government chairmen who are mostly young people in the state as wise and commendable.

This is in view of her husband’s agenda of youth inclusion in governance.

Mrs. Ganduje who it is said in many quarters among political pundits that commands a strong influence in the government of her husband may be indirectly endorsing the state commissioner for local government Murtala Garo as the most competent that will take over from her husband as the governor of the commercial hub.

“He brought young people who are educated and competent.

Wallahi i have not forgotten after we had a brief trip, almost every time, he’s here listening to me Yaki sai da Kwamanda(A war cannot be fought without Commander Murtala Garo).

When we arrived to our destination, this servant of God didn’t sleep(pointing at Murtala Garo) because he’s been dogged.

All local government Chairmen should hear this, the way the governor decided for this caliber of people as Chairmen, these are the kind of people that we want as successors”. She said.

It is not clear whether it is the view of her husband but Mrs. Ganduje is playing a significant role in the government of her husband, almost everybody has to be loyal to her to get what he wants.

The governor has on Thursday commissioned the office of the wife of the governor at Kano Government House, he said the decision of coming up with the office is in view of his wife’s commitment to the development of women considering their role in democracy.

The endorsement of Hafsat Ganduje will lead to a serious battle among the governorship aspirants of All Progressives Congress who are mostly loyal to the governor Abdullahi Ganduje and has his blessings in their political bid.

Some of the aspirants that will draw a line with the governor’s wife are Sen. Barau Jibrin, Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Rt. Hon Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, Inuwa Waya, AA Zaura, and Muaz Magaji Dawakin Tofa among many others who have indicated interest in the seat.
