The Plateau Youth under the aegis of Kanam Youth Vanguard for People Democratic Party, PDP, Comrade Joshua Miepyim is drumming support for the Senatorial aspiration of Ambassador G.Y. Gotom .
Miepyim said after due consumption with stakeholders of the party, we concluded an arrangement to support the ambition of Amb.Golkuna Yohanna Gotom, JP, for Senate under the Platform of the People Democratic Party, PDP, come 2023 election by employing the youth to make the right choice of their representative at the red chamber.
Joshua disclosed this in a press briefing held at Valley suite in Jos, employed Nigerian politicians to avoid internal political wrangling by fostering unity amongst citizens.
He also restated that, an appeal has been made to the Plateau Central voters to look into the possibility of giving out the overwhelming support to credibility and upright politician to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
According to comrade Joshua, peace has been described as the only panacea for meaningful development in any society so let join hands together and vote for Amb G.Y. Gotom to clean us our tears and worry.
He said their decision on G.Y Gotom coming into the political foray was tantamount to bringing in a neutral person into the race and balance the political equation of appeasing the Pankshin , Kanke,Kanam, Bokkos, and Mangu part of the state of having a shot at the seat.
Gotom has been a strong advocate of zoning and understanding the political dichotomy which has been an unwritten agreement reached in the past by political actors in the state, where the governorship seat is expected to rotate between the three geopolitical parts of the state.
Youth vanguard hinged their argument on the fact that since the creation of the state in 1976, given the opportunity to have a shot at the seat of power, we Kanam youth strongly behind leadership by examples.
The Kanam youth Vanguard believed that giving Gotom the PDP ticket will achieve two purposes such as balancing the political equation by giving the opportunity to produce a reliable, tested, and purposeful representation.
Secondly, Amb.Golkuna Yohanna Gotom Senate ticket, according to Kanam youth Vanguard, will afford the people of Plateau central opportunity of having an industrialist and highly celebrated technocrat at the helm of affairs who will create jobs and grow the economy.
The youth Vanguard emphasized that Gotom is very popular in Plateau central and is unknown to most of them so as PDP party flag bearer won’t rub them the opportunity of wrestling power from APC.
Joshua said we endorsed him to occupy any sensitive political position as we ask him to declared his intention to contest for the Senate.
