The Zonal Director of NASWAMSA and Environmental Sanitation Prosecuting Officer in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources,Musa Mohammed has said the ministry is set to mitigate in the State by deploying it’s staff in clearing drainages in the State.
Stating further that clearing of drainages will never be a monthly sanitation any longer.
The prosecuting Officer maintained that fighting flooding became necessary as heavy rainfall is about to fall in the State.
He however appeal to residents in all the 13 Local Government Areas to take a precautionary steps to avert flood disaster.
The prosecuting Officer added that no fewer than 125 persons were arrested across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State alongside 42 Keke Napep operators in the State.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,EdeYakubu while speaking appreciate residents and traders in the State for the show of maturity by staying indoor during the exercise.
He attributed the measure breakthrough by adopting a strategy through the blockage of major highways in the State Capital.
