The people of Nasarawa State across the thirteen Local Government Areas of the State are thrown into Jubilation following the screening of 8 Commissioners’ nominees today Tuesdays at the Assembly Complex.
The hallowed chamber of the Assembly was full to capacity as supporters of the nominees in and outside continued to shower encomium on their candidates.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honorable Aminu Muazu Maifata, in an interview with selected Journalists at the hallowed chamber of the Assembly shortly after the screening exercise, when asked whether all the 8 nominees are qualified and will add value to the State.
Hon.Aminu Maifata said he will only speak for one person and a childhood friend, even at the University in the person of the immediate past Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service, Honorable Yakubu Ahmed Muhammad.
According to him,”During his era as the Executive Chairman of the Internal Revenue Service, he drove a lot of revenue to the State Government.
Maifata, while fielding questions on the nominees, also denied that the essence of bringing them was to work for the State and the ruling Political party, the All Progressives Congress.
One of the nominees, Dr.Nawani Aboki from Doma South, the headquarters of Ekye Development Area, when asked if given the portfolio of the Commissioner of Information and National Orientation, he said he will ensure that he does more to bring in new grounds to the existing situation.
He promised to bring in the wealth of his experience to change the narrative.
