Jos South APC Stakeholders Endorse  Hon Gideon Dung Dandereng For Chairmanship Position

The  stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC , of Jos South Local Government Council of Plateau State ,have endorsed Hon.Amb.Gideon Dung Dandereng as their consensus candidate for the chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming council elections of October 9,2021 .

 

Reading the text , Hon Ayuba Pam  in a press conference held at senator DB Zang compound in Jos South.

 

He said ,”We welcome you all to this important occasion which is briefing, presentation of the nomination,expression of interest forms to their flag bearer in the forthcoming local government council elections as planned to hold in October by the Plateau state independent electoral commission , PLASIEC across the 17 LGAs .

 

According to their resolution ,as the democratic  high up they’re now confronted with another journey hurdles towards strengthening our political electioneering campaign strategy of their consensus candidate .

 

They said ,the insecurity has continued to breed in balance in Jos South LGA which hinder the participation of the electorate at the polls since 2017 ,however, their council is one of the four LGAs were election wasn’t conducted following the security challenges .

 

We are happy however today to further note that the Plateau state Governor has publicly declared to say election into all the seventeen councils will hold after the review of the security situation in these council areas .

 

This decision by the governor has no doubt revived partisanship and increase interest in direct grassroots participation in the electoral process not only in the affected council areas but the state and Nigeria in general.

 

The statement read, that in pursuant to the state electoral guidelines, our party, the ruling APC has released timetable leading to October council election stating nomination of party flag bearers shall be by consensus where all stakeholders of the party agree abinitio .

 

We stand to agree to the party decision which further stated, in the event a consensus is not reached, all interested chairmanship aspirants shall be nominated through direct primaries by akk registered members of the party .

 

As loyal party members, we want to appreciate the role of the critical stakeholders in Jos south who met on Saturday,June 12 ,2021 being democracy day to take a far-reaching decision to return back to her zoning system by maintaining status quo .

 

That the decision by the party critical stakeholders to revert to Gyel district as the zoning stipulates no doubt reviving the spirit of party unity and discipline .We note, this is commendable and applaudable.

 

With a divine mandate, they collectively endorsed Hon Gideon as their consensus candidate for the chairmanship post.
