Jos: Police Promises Hitch Free Sallah Celebration To Citizens By Yakubu Ventim
As part of measures to curtail violence during the Sallah celebration ,the Plateau state police command after due consultation with the stakeholders, Religious leaders and various youth groups and security has announced that security have been beef up in all the flash point in the state.
The state commissioner of Police,Mr Chris Olakpe who disclosed this on Wednesday at the Police officers Mess in Jos at the routine interactive session with the security operatives, Muslim and Christian leaders and other in the state.
He promised that movement will be restricted from all Motor cycles shall be banned by 6am to 6PM during the exercise.
Added that the measure was a mechanism to ensure a peaceful and violence free Sallah celebration .
Olakpe warned that parents should caution their wards and children from firing knock outs or other fire, saying that anyone who flouts the order will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
The commissioner also assure the good people of the state of adequate security of lives and property as the police and other security agencies are fully committed to the provision of comprehensive and adequate security network on the plateau the CP also paraded 16 suspected criminals who continue to terrorist the state.
In related development a house wife killed her husband in Langtang North.
Mrs Yanre Nanbol admitted planning with her boyfriend on September 10, 2013.
