Jos North, Bassa Constituency Exco Receives Fertilizer Worth Millions Of Naira From Haruna Maitala

A Member Federal House of Representative, representing Jos North, Bassa Federal constituency, Hon Haruna Maitala has disbursed fertilizers worth millions of naira to 30 Federal wards his constituency as he urged politicians in Nigeria to eschew politics of rancor and bitterness.

 

Addressing the media on his one year scored card, Maitala described his journey as a politician with the full learning and understanding of the terrain in Jos North LGA.

 

He told journalists that he hates making noise but as a silent achiever,  politics goes with lobbying for meaningful projects which he has done credibly well in the last one year in office.

 

According to him, he said politics has drawn me closer to the people of my constituency to urgently identified some of their primary needs and if not because of this COVID-19 pandemic my constituents would have witnessed tremendous development by now.

 

Haruna Maitala explained his reasons for silence and delay in some of his program outlines

, saying that had to do with youth, women empowerment through agriculture.

 

He added that why he kick-started with the part Exco especially in 14 ward of Jos north and 16 wards in Bassa LGAs was due to overwhelming support by them during the electioneering campaign.

 

Maitala stressed that the people of Jos North and Bassa didn’t make mistakes of given him the mandate but he vows to replicate the same gesture to them by ensuring that true representation would be an anchor on the people-oriented project.

 

“I only seek the intervention of Almighty Allah for them to exercise patience, that good thing is underway, I’m going to build roads, construct culverts linking communities and electrify villages including schools,” he added.

 

Maitala maintained, we have just started we are going see the performance in the area of water supply, early this year over 500 students received scholarships and many others enjoy JAMB and NECO, SSCE to estimated 2000 beneficiaries.

 

In the area of COVID-19 pandemic, over 2000 rice, 2000 maize palliative to duration the lockdown period through LGA, Federal Rep members and privately to individuals pursuing urgent needs, he noted.

 

He charged the people of his constituent to obey the restrictions order of social distance, hand washing, and wearing of facemask which is compulsory for all citizens.

 

Maitala tasked the warring communities to sheath their sword and embrace dialogue towards promoting togetherness as promised to partner with the senator representing Plateau North in proffering solution to the Irigwe killings.
