The Chairman Association of Local Government, Nasarawa State,Honorable Aminu Maifata has commended the Federal Executive Council for the approval of N931m for ecological fund.
The Chairman Lafia Local Government has said, He made the call in an interview with selected Journalists at Project Quarters.
Maifata explained that the Federal Government intervention to fight environmental disaster was timely considering the havoc wreaked on majority of Local Governments in the State.
Appealing to the Federal Government to consider Lafia, the administrative head of the State, He disclosed Lafia was one of the most devastated Local Government.
According to him, “My Lafia Government Council have quantum of places facing environmental degradation which he said includes Gongoro, Government Secondary School, Maina, Millionaire Quarters, Angwan Jaba.
Other affected areas are Lafia East comprises of Adogi, Assakio, Shabu, Kafin Wambai, Awuma respectively.
Aminu Maifata also commended the Federal Government for the award of 3km township road in the State capital.

In a same vain, The executive Chairman of Doma Local Government also applauded president Muhammadu Buhari for the gesture.
Appealing to the president to also consider Doma Local Government which he said was amongst the devastated Local Governments.
He however appealed to the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule and the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resource, Hon. Musa Ibrahim to include Doma Local Government during the environmental assessment of erosion prone areas.
