The Nigerian Bar Association, Jos Branch Chairman Ledak Dazuk Dafer has constituted a five man committee with a call on them to say no to violence before, during and after elections. Dafer made this known during the inauguration of the ceremony held at Rwang Pam Street, Jos, yesterday.
The committee is constituted as follows: Clement Irnongu ,Esq, Chairman .Rebecca K.Shase’et Esq,alternate Chairman Oyafemi ,Esq. Niri Darong ,Esq .Hammache’Esq with the term of reference to mobilize and raised funds for 10 days workshop .
He noted that the appointment as members, voter education and mobilization workshop planning committee is to educate the electorates and politicians that want to use the youth to fight for them.
The chairman urged the newly sworn-in committee to swift into action because if the electorates are not educated they pose serious danger to the society ,adding, NBA did carefully selected you as monitoring committee to bring total peace to plateau people.
Dafer tasked the committee not to allow themselves to be use by any politicians so we have conceived that this election is very crucial to the live of this country which was captured in the law week program.
He also challenged other branch across the 36 states of the country to emulate the ideas to reach out to their people .
The NBA boss expressed confidence in the trouble flash point of plateau state, the branch is committed toward transparent selection of members who have good credentials to serve the state.
Dafer assured of resolving the lingering industrial action embark upon be the JUSUN national wide by dialogue with the state branch Chairman.
Responding the former chairman Steve Abah said, acknowledged the responsibility and appreciates the prompt response of the state chairman in nipping the forthcoming crisis on board through awareness and sensitization.
“We are proud to identify with the vision and mission of the chairman. He assured him of discharging their own responsibility, we Promised to offer our own collective service for free and credible election, we shall discharge it’s with passion and seriousness,” he said.
According to him , the NBA has sold task to give a voice to press on the supporters that the elections should be rancor free . He prayed that the February election should educate citizens to see themselves as their brothers not enemies.
