Jos Based Upcoming Artist, Murphy Urges Govt To Empower Creative Industry To End Restiveness

A Jos based upcoming artist who  hails from Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna state ,Mr Murphy Rabuwa has urged States and Federal Government of Nigeria to support creative industry and empower the youth to end restiveness .

 

In an interview with this medium ,Rabuwa said the challenges of music production is so technologically deriving that artists here on the Plateau found it very difficult to invest in buying of equipment.

 

He was born in Jenta Adamu of Jos North Local Government council of Plateau state ,,attended St Luis Primary School ,to Government Secondary School ,Miango and ,Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he studied Urban and Regional Planning and a founding Member Hip ,Hop group ,U.GMC. CEO Rap genius production and Hip hop music producer, writer and entrepreneur.

 

A member of music in Africa (MA) and Hip Hop friends and society West Africa and so many others.

 

According to him, most artists don’t know the different between the creative aspect of music and the business aspect of it, so there are always conflict between the two body of music but we are working hard to reposition the industry towards promoting the work creative artists.

 

Rabuwa emphasized that here in Plateau state, artists go through the problem of lack of organize body of promoters, marketers and censorship which had cause us serious setback to the business aspect, adding, the music industry was rooted in Jos around 80s but due absence of those who can come and invest or promote the sector it became another big issues.

 

He said they are still growing and developing artist in different ways, as they are encouraging more entertainers, especially those in the creative industry.

 

Murphy says ,the coming of radio stations like Rhythm, KT FM, J FM ,Peace FM, and unity FM artist are gradually receiving recognition and their major challenges has to do financing and he appeal to private and spirited individuals to come in and support the creative industry.

 

He commended the government for the vision of working hard to create a conducive atmosphere for the youth to be responsible to themselves and the community; he said he has experience of writing movie, music since 2005.
