Jigawa State Revised It’s 2020 Budget, By 19 Percent As COVID-19 Ravage The Country’s Economy

The Jigawa State House of Assembly has revised the appropriation bill of 2020 budget of the state by reducing 19 percent of the state budget out of N124, 357,000,000 for the service of the state government due to the menace of COVID-19 disturbing the country and the world in general which has led to the crippling of the economy.

 

Meanwhile the sum of fifty-six billion, two hundred and twenty-four million, two hundred and twenty thousand two hundred and twenty-one Naira Only, (N56,224,220,221) for the service of twenty-seven local Government areas in the state for a period of 1st January 2020 to December 2020 for possible adoption.

 

The Speaker of the House made a public announcement that the house lifted the suspension of hon, Sani Isyaku Gumel member representing Gumel constituency based on a request seeking for reconsolidation between the House and the member representing Gumel by some elders and big personalities from Gumel and the state at large.

 

Hon Idris Garba Kareka who is the Speaker said the house, therefore, lifted the suspension based on the elders’ intervention seeking the House for reconsolidation.

 

When contacted Hon Sani Isyaku on phone said he is not willing to withdraw the case until he contacts his lawyer assuring that all his benefit and salaries, as well as other allowances, must be paid to him as other members were paid.
