Jigawa state has been declared as the most transparent state in terms of Primary Health Care centers in the country for two consecutive periods, this was stated by the Jigawa State Deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Namaddi at an occasion organized by the civil society on health matters at manpower in Dutse Jigawa State.
Namaddi explained further that all facilities at the local government would be funded by the state government and the state will take responsibility for providing workers to health facilities across the 27 local government areas in the state.
He stated that 241 hospitals were accredited by the federal government in the state to received NHIS funds assisted under the national programme in which 279 hospitals are fully eligible to participate in the scheme.
Namaddi said 41 hospitals in the state were not included in the national scheme because they did not meet the requirement of national standards.
The deputy governor said the Jigawa State government will do everything possible to address the issue of health problems in the state.
