The Jigawa State Environmental Protection Sanitation Agency (JISEPA) has launched seven days of environmental sanitation exercise in Kazaure, Roni, Gwiwa, and Yan`kwashi local government areas.
Launching the exercise the acting Managing Director of the agency, Alhaji Suleiman M Abbas. represented by the acting Director of Environmental Health of the agency.
Alhaji Adamu Sabo said the sanitation exercise was divided into four phases, namely refuse disposal, clearance of culverts and drainages, insecticide spray against mosquito, and clearance of staff quarters within the four LGA`s.
He said the sanitation will be conducted in Hospitals, schools, markets, and other places of public gatherings.
Alhaji Suleiman Abbas called on the officials of the four local governments and relevant stakeholders to support JISEPA workers for the successful conduct of the sanitation exercise.
In his remarks the chairman governing council, Jigawa state environmental sanitation, and protection agency, Alhaji Garba Kwaimawa called on the chairmen of self-help groups of the benefiting local governments to work closely with sanitation workers to achieve the desired objectives.
