Jigawa SEMA Disburses N13.9 Million To 17 LGAs

The Jigawa state government annually keeps ten trucks of foods items for disbursement to people with disabilities and orphans.

 

This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency Alhaji Sani Yusif Babura in his office.

 

Yusif said early this year an accident that happened along Jigawa Bauchi road claimed several lives of people from Jigawa and others within the state capitals of which a total of 33 people lost their lives.

 

The state government has released one hundred thousand Naira to each of the families as assistance given to the accident victim families which involves people from Jahun, Bulangu, and Kirikasamma communities.

 

The secretary further explained that recently the agency disbursed farm inputs to farmers as palliatives from the federal government across the 19 local government areas in the state with a view to supporting the farmers.

 

Alhaji Sani said the support given to them includes NPK fertilizers, liquid fertilizers, and enhancers as well as water pump machines.

 

He added that now they have about 600 pumping machines on the ground which will be disbursed to farmers in the remaining three local governments that did not receive pumping machines during the last disbursement.

 

The secretary said also the state government rendered its financial assistance to accident victims amounting to N3.4million to about 34 people.

 

 

According to the secretary last year the Jigawa state government disbursed a total of N13 .9 million across the 17 local government areas in the state.

 

The money was distributed to 212 people victims of fire outbreaks in the state.
