Jigawa Police Command Recover Arms And 149 Ammunition

In his bid to check the proliferation of arms among people, the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP Usman Sule Gomna has ordered the Area Commanders and the Divisional Police Officers in the State to embark on serious raids on black spots and any place they suspected that arms are being kept

 

It is against this background that on the 12/9/2020 the Police in Gwiwa LGA went to Kabaka Fulani settlement in Gwiwa LGA for a raid. To their surprise, one of their targets suspects Bala Kama of the same village, whom they suspected of motorcycle snatcher, armed robbery, and killing of two vigilante men in the night at Tinkishi village, Gwiwa LGA, took to his heels on sighting them.

 

As a result, of that, the Police conducted a search in the settlement. In the process, the following were recovered;

  1. Two AK 47 rifles.
  2. One hundred and forty-nine (149) rounds of ammunition.
  3. Five magazines.
  4. One magazine jacket.
  5. Two knives.

 

It was suspected that the color and Calibre of the recovered empty shell at the scene where the two vigilantes were shot dead are the same as the ones found at the settlement.

 

The police public relations officer SP Audu Jinjiri confirmed the story adding that the case is under investigation at State CID headquarter in Dutse as effort is being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.
