Jigawa PDP In Disarray Over 2015 Governorship Candidate By Umar Usman ,Dutse
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Jigawa, are said to be in disorder over who the next Governorship flag bearer of the party will be, this is as many aspirants who wanted to contest for the 2015 governorship election under the PDP in the state are now disenchanted, following information that Governor Sule Lamido has anointed a candidate, universalreporters247.com gathered from a government house source, that the Governor gave N11 million to his former Chief of Staff Malam Aminu Ringim to purchase the form in Abuja.
As learnt by this medium, the Chief of Staff picked his form in Abuja on Monday accompanied by some government functionaries, and other important personalities, it was learnt that the governor gave the Chief of Staff the money to support him as well as paying the flight tickets of all the 11 personalities that accompanied Aminu Ringim to Abuja where he picked his 2015 gubernatorial form.
The backing of the Chief of Staff by the Governor is indeed causing ripples among the party members in state, even as many were surprise that the Governor’s choice initially was Bashir Dalhatu, but at the last moment he changed gear towards Aminu Ringim.
Many people in the party are already making subtle moves to leave the party if truly Malam Aminu is the Governor’s anointed candidate. According to a source; “Malam Aminu doesn’t have any good relationship with Government workers, he doesn’t have either with politicians in the state all because he sees himself as untouchable due to the fact that he is longest serving Chief of Staff in the state. Infact, it is on note that he served under Sir Aminu Turaki for eight years, and when this present administration came on board he also became the Chief of staff till recently that he resigned his appointment as Chief of Staff to contest for the 2015 governorship election.”
It is gathered that the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Mahamud Kukkli will also join the race to pick his gubernatorial ticket this week, while well known business tycoon who is an IBB boy Alhaji Danladi Auyo is also among the aspirant who picked their gubernatorial ticket as it was gathered by former governor of Jigawa state Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki to buy his form.
Meanwhile just as it is happening in Jigawa, it is also happening in APC in Jigawa State, the APC followers are backing Alhaji Ubali Hahim as the Governorship candidate for the 2015 general election as he is from Hadejia Emirate and he is seemed to be acceptable by all people as against the candidature of Badaru Abubakar owing to the fact that party supporters have not forgotten how he refuse to join his party the ACN, in 2011 when they to court to challenge Lamido.
