Jigawa Non-Indigenes Elect New Leaders After 16 Years

The non-indigents forum in Jigawa has been without leadership in the last sixteen years due to leadership crisis, the association has now resolved and elected credible leaders that will run the affairs of the association in the state.

The election was conducted in a good atmosphere at the state library board under the credible leadership of Mr. Eze Igodo who served as the chairman of the electoral committee.

The association of Nonindigents forum elects Mr. Wakili as its new executive president to run the affairs of the association for a good four years coming ahead.

The election was conducted under the supervision of all security personnel, pressmen and civil society organizations.

Those elected include Alhaji Garba Wakili who score 44 votes out of 80 votes to beat up his contender Siyanbola Oyedele who scored 36 votes in which Wakili was declared the winner of the election and he emerges the president of Jigawa non-indigenes forum.

While the position of vice president which was unopposed was won by Odeyemi Marcus.

Other positions include the position of Assistant Secretary-General won by Sarafadeen Babalola who was also unopposed and that of the Financial Secretary was won by Egbeagu Kingsly, the PRO won by Mr. Otobo David Awhubaire were all unopposed as well as Mr. Sani Abdulmumini who got victory unopposed.

The remaining seat contested includes the position of the secretary-general contested between Charly Abimiku kudu and Ozobu Kenneth, Mr. Charly scored 38 votes while Kenneth scored 43 votes in which the committee declared Mr. Kenneth as the winner of the election.

And for the position of Treasurer, Mr. Edidemi Precious and Mr. Partrick Gum contested for the seat where Mr. Patrick scored 12 votes and Edidem scored 69 votes whatever Mr. Edidemi declared as the winner.

For the position of provost two-person contested the position, Mr. John Akpakpan scored 39 votes while Mr. Adekunle Olasupo scored 40 as Olasupo was declared the winner of the election.
