Jigawa Governor, Politicians Shun Izala Occasion For N21 Million Appeal Fund In Jigawa

In what may be described as a disgrace to members of Islamic group of Izalatul Bidi’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), an Islamic sect that propagate the tradition of Holy Prophet Muhammad went home disappointed when they raised only N200,000 out of N21million they appealed for.

The occasion that was earlier publicized through Radio jingles across the state was viewed by many as a place where rival politicians may gather and pray for peace for each other.

According to the organizers of the event, the appeal fund was targeted to be used for the purchase of to 2 Buses, feeding of less privilege in the upcoming month of Ramadan and building of Mosque and Islamic school.

The organizers of the event were seen physically demoralized with the poor turn out of personalities at the occasion.

In the event, the only politician who graced the occasion with cash was Mustapha Lamido, he donated N100,000.

According to the programme schedule, Governor Abubakar Badaru who was the chief host of the occasion was absent and also absent in proxy.

Other politicians who shunned the appeal fund and were never represented in the occasion include Senator Sabo Nakudu, Senator Ubale Shitu, Senator Abdullahi Gumel, APC leader in Jigawa Farouk Adamu, APC chairman Ado Kiri.

However, the secretary to the state government Abdulkadir Fanini made a pledge through his representative that he will send his contribution at an appropriate time.

One of the organizers Dahiru Suleiman said that the money generated in the occasion can’t even settle the money paid in announcing the occasion.
