Jigawa Government Distribute Palliatives To 49,915 Households

The Jigawa state government distributed palliatives to 49,915 Households in order to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic. The distribution is to be done in 3,526 polling units in the state wherein each polling unit 12 household was selected to benefit.

 

Badaru confirmed that a total of 42,312 households will receive the palliative items in all the polling units of the states while the remaining items will be shared to people with special needs, such as the physically challenged, pensioners, orphans and other special people to be determined from the state social register.

 

He explained further that the state will put all the necessary mechanism to monitor the process at all levels of the distribution exercise, he than urge media and civil society organization to monitor and report to the government, the success or failure of the process.

 

While distributing the items, the Jigawa state Governor Alhaji Badaru Abubakar said the government has put its best toward the cubing of the COVID -19 in the State.

 

“We have put measures to reduce the difficulties that people encountered during the COVID-19 era.

 

The Governor said the items given out to the people in the state are the materials contributed by agencies, companies, and federal government given to Jigawa state government as palliatives to assist the people in the State.

 

Badaru said the material will share with vulnerable people and poor families as well as pensioners who are in serious need across the 27 local government areas of the state.

 

He explained further that the palliatives would be distributed to 42000 households, while 12000 people were also selected among the beneficiaries who among them are pensioners as well as people with disabilities.

 

In his vote of thanks the ALGON chairman Jigawa state, who is also the chairman of Gumel local government thanked the Jigawa state government for distributing the materials judiciously across the 27 local councils.

 

The chairman said it is very interesting that in every political ward the government selected 12 people who are seriously in need of support and gave them the palliatives.
