The Jigawa State government said it has awarded roads and electricity contracts worth over N7.5 billion.
The projects include Gwaram Basirka which is a 63km road, awarded at the cost of N5.61 billion to Alrain Construction Company.
According to the Commissioner of Works and Transport Alhaji Aminu Muhammed, the Gwaram Basirka is a federal road that linked many states in the northeast of the country including Bauchi, Gombe Adamawa, Borno, And Yobe States.
The road was washed away by flood during the recent flooding in the state in which two to four km are to be reconstructed again.
The commissioner further explained that Ringim township road was also awarded at the cost of N599.6m.
He added the project of substation of power generation is about to be commissioned which will provide power to Gagarawa Communities And Gumel, Maigatari, Sule Tankarkar, Babura, Malam Madori
Others to benefit include Taura Jahun and Gujungu, meanwhile, the work for solar-powered street lights in Hadejia will gulp the sum of N90.2m.
He also said that the street lighting for Chaichai and Zamdam Nagoggo of Gwaram local government was awarded at the rate of N83.7m are expected to be completed in three months.
Even as he added that the road network in Babura town the hometown of governor Badaru Abubakar was awarded at the cost of N930.9m.
