Jang’s Probe: IPAC Hails Lalong

The Plateau State chapter of Inter-Party advisory council (IPAC), has said that the setting up of a commission of inquiry to probe the administration of Jonah David Jang, was a good development.

It also commended Governor Simon Lalong over his concerned to the citizens of the state.

State chairman of the council Hon. George Ndu, gave the commendation in a press statement issued in Jos the state capital.

He said: “IPAC as an umbrella body of political parties in the state, observed with keen interest, the prudence manner in which Lalong administration is handling the lean resources of the state and its ability to cleared the backlog of civil servants salaries is high commendable.”

The statement said the recent setting up of commission of inquiry  to probe the; “wrong doings of the immediate past administration of Jonah Jang was indeed a good development, although its coming up was long overdue.”

According to IPAC, the commission of inquiry need to; “work fearlessly and unfavorably on the cause of its duty and to also proffer recommendations that would ensure speedy recovery of the looted public funds.”

The statement appreciated Governor Lalong’s efforts at diversifying ways for the generation of revenue to the state.

“We appreciated government commitment to rebuild the burnt down Jos ultra-modern main market, and also the commencement of issuance of certificate of occupancy (C of O), all in an efforts at revamping the state economy,” it read in pats.

IPAC stressed the need for the people of the state to continue to support government efforts.

“We also call on state government to steer up efforts at putting more developmental programmes that will impact positively on the citizens,” it said.
