Jang’s Lays Wreath To Unknown Soldier By Yakubu Busari,Jos

The Plateau state Governor Jonah David Jang yesterday has laid wreath at the statue of Unknown Soldier “Dogon-yaro in honoured of fallen heroes who fought in first and second world wars.

The Governor also observed a one minute silence in memory of the fallen heroes and prayed for the souls of the departed   soldiers who died sacrificing for the unity of this country.

Jang lamented that over the dead as well as living heroes of ex-servicemen whose  children and other dependents are there to cater for ,adding that majority of these ex-servicemen find it difficult to make ends meet.

According to him, the celebration reflects soberly on the plight of the dead and the living heroes with a resolve to minimizing their suffering.

The ceremony also marked the 2015 Armed Forces Remembrance Day and emblem appeal week at the state secretariat and also laying of wreaths by the Governor Dr Jonah David Jang.

The Governor Jang also witnessed the gun shots to commensurate the sacrifice of soldiers that died fighting insurgents in North east , also with him are the Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly ,Hon. Titus Alams, chief Judge, Justice Pius Damulak, Major General F.o Alli, STF commander David Enetie and  other key stakeholders.

The Plateau State Chairman Nigeria Legion, Col Danladi Rwang said, the release of pigeon’s signifying peaceful coexistence.

He commended the Jang administration for the kind of support it offered to the Legion’ branch in the state.

He called on federal government to ensure that all those ex-servicemen were paid their monthly allowances. Rwang also condemned the killing of soldiers in some part of the country by insurgents
