ITF Director General Promises Government Readiness To Reposition The Sector

The Director General Industrial Training Funds (ITF) Sir Joseph Ari has assured the staff of the fund of federal government readiness to reposition the sector for better human capital development through skills acquisition programme of government.

Addressing the staff at the handing over ceremony held at the headquarters in Jos, he solicited the cooperation of the staff to enable him discharge his function without fear of favour .

“I have been faithful and contributed through the membership of various committees in area of blueprint of amendment of policy of improving ITF for service delivery among so many policy documents “he noted

He stated the present economic recession ravaging the country is a global challenges but not withstanding Nigeria still remain the biggest African ,stressing that we will soon get out by calling on federal government to implement ITF program of youth skills acquisition training .

According to him, other countries that suffered the same recession like China, Brazil made use of ICT agencies through human capital development.

Mr Ari advised the staff that Mr. President and Nigerians expect a lot from ITF as he said we must know that activities must be carryout with utmost commitment. .

He called on the staff to be innovative with ideas of doing different thingS toward revenue generation and be creative to revamp the industrial experience as the leading agencies across the country to promote human capital development.

While handing over the mantra of leadership, the Ag. Director General Dickson Onouha commended the federal government for giving him the opportunity to serve the people and government of Nigeria in area training of youth of skills program.

He stated that the occasion remain memorable in the history of the industrial funds in the last 7 months as the ITF was in a serious mess when he took over as Ag director.

Onouha explained that the staff of ITF can now enjoy the NHIS with over 100 of the staff trained as he said no single person complained that they have not been paid

He stressed that the management maintained a healthy relationship with its parent ministry ,the federal ministry of industry ,trade and investment .

“We were able to secure approvals on major submissions ,especially for the 5th phase of the national industrial skills development program (NISDp) ,the fund enlisted 500 trainees per state and additional 600 trainees of IDP in Maiduguri ,Borno “he stated .

Onouha added that, the management conducted a successful promotion examination interviews for various cadres of staff, adding he said TSDP collaborate with NECA and the ITF /German chamber of commerce under dual vocational training system.

He appealed to the two unions to extend the same cooperation and support to the incoming Director -General to ensure he succeed that ITF belongs to all of them and that they must unite to secure its stability and sustenance.
