The uncontrolled leadership crisis has continued to rock the management of the “Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, ISOPADEC”, for the past 7-8 months.
Information has it that the ousted Imo State Deputy Governor, Engr.Gerald Irona, allegedly instigated some youths of the areas, who were allegedly pushed by the sacked ISOPADEC Managing Director, Hon.Anthony Okwuosha, to loot the Commission’s treasury since they were sacked by the Supreme Court.
The embattled and aggressive Deputy Governor, Irona, was on last Friday,Jan.24th 2020,allegedy instigated the dissolved Managing Director of ISOPADEC, Hon.Anthony Okwosha for the invasion of the complex at New Owerri Area of Imo State.
The looting was ably led the factional State President of Niger Delta Youth Movement, NDYM, Prince Eyasara, who allegedly stormed the commission with some youths numbering over 50 armed with all kinds of dangerous weapons who carted away some valid documents supposed to be government files.
The youths who stormed establishment, financial status of the income and expenditures of the Imo State govt.from the inception of the embattled Governor of the state, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, since May 29th 2019.
Confirming the report of the alleged office invasion and forceful intimidation of the ISOPADEC security officials and some of the commission’s staffers.
One of the ISOPADEC staff, who pleaded not to print his name in the media, disclosed that some valued documents were carted away.
The ISOPADEC staff, while speaking expressed dissatisfaction and worry over the carting away of govt. properties and documents by the youths whom he tagged Imo PDP youths, even as he condemned in its totality.
The worker of ISOPADEC, while speaking, revealed that the hired thugs who stormed ISOPADEC where all members of PDP allegedly sponsored by the sacked Imo Deputy Governor, through one of his loyalists, Engr.Tony Okwuosha.
“For about 7- 8 months since the emergence of Chief Ihedioha as Governor, our subventions and salaries was stopped. Even on the day of handover/swearing ceremony of Gov.Hope Uzodinma, Okwuosha and his cohorts who are enemies of the Oil Producing Communities were caught busy looting and carting away official documents of the commission”, the staff disclosed.
Some critical stakeholders in oil kingdoms have collectively condemned such acts which they (the Religious leaders, Traditional Rulers) have jointly dissociate themselves from the ugly and wickedness against the interest of the masses.
It was however gathered that Hon.Okwuosha gave the youths a huge sum of #4m for demobilization for their job well flown.
Meanwhile, all efforts to communicate both Engr.Gerald and Hon.Okwuosha on their phone lines proved abortive as at the press time.
