The authority of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) has been expressively directed by the Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodinma, to commence the processes of conducting the Local Government Elections in the State in order to set the Third Tier of Government functional and effective for the rapid rural development.
The Imo Governor, Chief Hope Uzodinma gave the directives last Sunday, October.17th 2021, in Owerri, while addressing the congregation after the Sunday Mass at the Government House Chapel.
He stated that the continued support his administration has received from the people remains valued and with commitment, the Shared Prosperity Administration is dedicated to the delivery of good governance to the people of Imo State.
According to Sen.Uzodinma, the institution of the 3rd Tier of Government would help to crystallize development at the grassroots level and offer more inclusiveness to the people.
By this expository, the people of Imo State are advised to get ready to exercise their franchise in electing their leaders at the Local Government levels.
