The leadership of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission,ISIEC,under the mandate of the State Chairman, Hon.Barr.Julius Onyenaucheya,was on Thursday, July 11th 2019,met with the political party chairmen and secretaries as part of their reediness and preparation towards conducting a free,fair, transparent and credible Local Government elections to elect various Council Chairmen and Councillors in the 27 LGA’s of Imo State.
Speaking to the political party leaders present at the Imo Traditional Rulers Council Parliament palace in Owerri,the ISIEC Chairman,Barr.Onyenaucheya,expressed optimism that commission is ever ready and prepared to conduct the most free and fair elections in the next one hundred and fifty days in Imo State as directed by the Governor,Chief Emeka Ihedioha,as part of the Rebuild Mission Government.
The ISIEC Boss assured free transparent elections and called on all parties to presents popular candidates forthcoming LGA polls.
Hon.Benneth Duru,said” jointly as group of political parties have past vote of confidence on the leadership of ISIEC and we believed on free,fair and credible election”.
Hon.Duru,who is the Chairman of National Element Peoples Party,NEPP, also the Special Adviser to Gov.Ihedioha,on Inter-Party Affairs.
