Ishokori Anaguta 2025: Ex-Minister Tanimu Turaki Harps On The Peaceful Coexistence Of The Anaguta People

The Chairman of occasion ‘Ishokori Anaguta Cultural Festival’ , Former Minister of Special Duties ,Danmasanin Gwandu and the Zaruman Kebbi ,Hon.Barr.Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) has harped the peaceful coexistence of the Anaguta people and their accommodative nature at Anaguta festival celebration of peace while struggling with the challenges of insecurity that bedeviled the country .

He said ,Jos the capital of Plateau State was a centre of global envy in 80s but the enemies of the state decided to disrupt it .

The Former Minister declared the Ishokori Anaguta cultural festival opened as he commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang achievement in the area of infrastructural development and security .

However, the event was held  at the Polo Club in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, with the celebration of the Anaguta people’s rich cultural heritage and displays of North -central culture artist  .

The festival’s theme, “Celebrating the Cultural Diversity of the People of Jos North,” highlighted the importance of unity in diversity, bringing together over 15 traditional groups from different communities in Jos North’.

The festival featured colourful displayed of traditional music, dance, and art, showcasing the Anaguta people’s rich artistic and cultural practices.

The celebration served as a testament to the community’s dedication to peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence.

Hon. Dr. Daniel Garba Baka, National President of the Anaguta Development Association, highlighted the significance of the festival in promoting peace and cultural exchange.

He emphasized that the Ishokori festival is an all-inclusive celebration that showcases the Anaguta people’s identity and diversity, and serves as a platform for unity and nation-building.

In promoting Peace and Unity,  Stakeholders, including Hon. Hamisu Muhammed Anani, Plateau State ALGON chairman  the Executive Chairman of Wase Local Government Council, Hon. Samuel Dala Umaru, Mustafa Ibrahim, Hon. Lawatti Datti, and Senator Simon Mwadkwon, praised the festival for promoting peace, unity, and cultural diversity.

They emphasized the importance of passing on values of togetherness and respect to future generations.

Fundraising Initiative

The festival organizers launched a fundraising initiative to build a Peace Center within the proposed Anaguta Multipurpose Cultural and Sports Complex, aiming to promote peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities in Jos North.

The Ishokori Anaguta cultural festival was a resounding success, showcasing the power of culture to unite people and promote community development. The event demonstrated that with unity and resilience, communities can come together and achieve great things.

 As Hon. Amb. Daniel Asama noted, the festival is a celebration of cultural identity and peace, and a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Plateau people.
