Iran Launches Dozens, Missiles At Israel

Israel saw over 200 drones and missiles fired across a number of towns within its country on Saturday evening.

The raids were launched by Iranian authority and they were considered as a retaliatory attack.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari who claimed so, also said that the vast majority of those drones and missiles were intercepted.

He however, stated that an unknown number of those missiles fell in Israeli territory, wounding at least one child.

Hagari also said that Israel had closed its airspace at midnight and fully activated its air defense systems ahead of the aerial assault.

“It took several hours for the drones to reach Israeli airspace because alerts began to sound across Israel close to 2 a.m. local time Sunday in southern Israel, by the Dead Sea, in Jerusalem, and the Shomron area.

“The IDF Aerial Defense Array is on high alert, along with IAF fighter jets and Israeli Navy vessels that are on a defense mission in Israeli airspace. The IDF is monitoring all targets.”

US President Joe  Biden, has late Saturday condemned the Iranian attack, as contained in a statement.

He acknowledged that the U.S. had “helped Israel take down nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles.”

Iran’s attack came in retaliation for an April 1 strike by Israel on an Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, which killed seven members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
