Interfaith Coalition Conference Co-Chairman, Kadzai, Lambasts Dalung Over Criticising Of Service Chief Change By President Tinubu

A former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has been blasted by Engr. Daniel Kadzai the Co-Chairman of, Interfaith Coalition Conference for criticising the change of Service Chiefs by President Bola Tinubu.

According Kadzai, the comments made by Dalung are hypocritical, adding that when a Senator in the United States of America Ted Cruz, raised the alarm on Christian genocide in Nigeria, Dalung and his camp kept mute and never said anything.

In a statement signed by Kadzai, he said that it is indeed a disappointing attitude to be exhibited by statesmen like Dalung when crucial matters affecting humanity come up.

“The criticism of Solomon Dalung against the removal of Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff, President Tinubu is totally out of place. When Musa was appointed as Defence Chief, did Dalung congratulate Tinubu for appointing a minority as CDS? parts of the statement read.

Recently, in an opinion article, Dalung has said that minorities are used as pawns in the country, adding that, “Nigeria’s political architecture has long been defined by exclusion and domination. The majority blocs Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, and Igbo have maintained a firm grip on the levers of power, while the Middle Belt and South-South remain strategically useful, but politically dispensable”, he said in parts.

But Kadzai, who berated Dalung in his statement, where he said it was a result of ignorance, that he Dalung should be reminded him that under the Military Rules of Service, the President, as a matter of responsibility, is incumbent to change service Chiefs every two years.

“ What happened during the tenure of late President Muhammadu Buhari when he allowed the Service Chiefs to stay for almost six years was an aberration and abuse of power,” Kadzail said.

“Thank God that President Tinubu has returned to the constitutional military status quo”, he said.

It would be recalled that President Tinubu, on the 24th of October 2024, announced new service chiefs as part of renewed efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.
