The former Minister for Sports and Youth Development, the Plateau State Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Barrister Solomon Selcap Dalung, has clarified that, to his knowledge, there is no leadership crisis engulfing the Plateau State chapter of the party since the coalition.
Speaking in an interview with journalists at his residence in Sabon Baraki of Jos South LGA on Monday, Dalung told journalists that on healthy preparation for the forthcoming election in Nigeria and council election in Plateau State , he doesn’t know about leadership crises in the state.
He disclosed that,”we came and harmonized the issues that were lingering on when Hon. Hanatu Gagara was acting chairman before the coalition, then the NWC set up an interim committee to conduct the election, including the INEC.
Solomon cleared the doubt that the reconciliation committee of 10 men drew the guidelines for resettlement, urging those in court to withdraw the case, and immediately, the committee confirmed that Hon. Sam Gyang was restored to the North-Central zonal office by Tunde Ogbeiha.
According to him, the position of Deputy Zonal Women leader was given to Hanatu where they resolved the issues amicably, and she accepted the position wholeheartedly.
Dalung explained that at the meeting, they both embraced each other between Hanatu Gagara and Sam Gyang, but after some time, she started parading herself as the state chairperson; we are not aware of that.
He stated that the party across the country has started revalidation and e-registration, which is ongoing under the supervision of Nanman Daniel and the distribution of cards.
Solomon Dalung said that ADC, as a political party, is coming as a result of a coalition that has active participants trying to resolve the problem of bad governance in the country.
We want to rescue Nigeria’s poor leadership that is derailing from total collapse and a lack of rules of law, heading toward one party system.
Dalung lambasted President Tinubu for destroying the opposition party so that he will be the sole candidate in 2027 general election as a monarch.
He added that ADC is the only standing emblem to salvage Nigerian but if the party fails to present credible contestants, he will work for the opposition
