Insecurity: Borno Batch B Corps Members To Hold Orientation In Bauchi

Logpobiri Anaiya

The orientation course for 2016 Batch ‘B’‎ corps members deployed to Borno state will hold in Bauchi State.

This followed the approval given by the Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Borno State which requested for a venue in the state.

In a statement issued in Bauchi  by the Borno State NYSC Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Suleman it stated that the Bauchi State governor has approved General Hassan Usman Katsina, Unity College, to host the forthcoming ‎Batch B NYSC orientation for the Corps members posted to Borno State.

‎According to the statement, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brig. General Sule Zakari Kazaure had earlier written to the Governor for a venue to hold the exercise in the state.

It would be recalled that the atmosphere of fear that pervades Borno and some north-eastern states has necessitated the management of the NYSC scheme to dislodge the orientation course for the affected states to hold elsewhere since 2011 Batch ‘B’ service year.

“Before now, corps members deployed to Borno state had undertook the orientation exercise in; Benue, Gombe, Katsina and Nasarawa states.

The programme is scheduled to hold from Thursday 24th November to Tuesday 13th December, 2016,”the statement added.
