Inflation Hits High In Plateau As NULGE Assured Of Government Commitment

Inflation rate in Plateau has hit high forcing parents to withdraw their children from private schools due to high cost of living and nonpayment of salaries by government.

Speaking on the rising cost of things in the State, the Chairman Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee, Plateau state chapter, Comrade Samson Mafuyai expressed government commitment to work its ways out of the dwindling economic misfortune ravaging revenue generation of the state.

He called on government to remains focus and ensures that workers salary should be given topmost priority to elevate their suffering.

“We are not surprise by the current challenges which is a global problem so we are appealing for calm from the people”, he added.

He said in Plateau state to have parents withdrawing their children from the private schools to is due hardship, people are struggling to survive not thinking education.

Mafuyai appealed to government that some of the schools visited lack science teachers and government to urgently do something to remedy the situation by returning education to the olden days of providing learning equipment.

He employed those distractors of Lalong government to avoid unnecessary comments on issues they don’t know anything about; the government had been prompt with the payments of NULGE salary including the teachers.

According to him, we believe only few people that are complaining of not receiving their allowances and arrears but to the best of my knowledge we own two months.

He expressed sadness that the recession in the economy has crippled the income generation of the country but we are confidence that very soon we shall get out of this.

Mafuyai cautioned against cheap blackmail on issue of corruption anybody alleging frauds, misappropriation of funds by the union should come and investigate their stewardship.
