INEC Distributes 83 Percent of PVC in Nasarawa state—REC By Rabiu Omaku,Lafia

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Umar Danyaya has revealed that 83 percent of Permanent Voters’ Card as far been collected by electorate in the state, The commissioner expressed optimism over what he described as a significant improvement in the ongoing exercise.

He gave the affirmation during a press briefing in Lafia,Adding that 83 percent of PVC out of the 1.2million registered voters has so far collected their voters card while 266,000 are yet to be collected, He however said the commission is committed to ensure that all eligible voters  vote in the month general election.

Danyaya called on eligible voters in the state to take advantage of the extension to acquired their card, “To ensure that every registered voter is carried along we have implore a stringent measure by distributing the PVC’s at ward level instead of the collection centered at Local Government INEC office”.

But the question that needed ardent answer was what happens to the Internally Displaced Persons in the state? The former Resident Electoral Commissioner, Aliyu Makama during a press briefing buttressed that no fewer than 120 communities were displaced or deserted following the outbreak of ethnic and communal conflict that rock the state barely four years.
