Increase Petroleum Pump Price And Risks 20 Year Jail Term-Nasarawa NSCDC Tells Oil Marketers

The Nasarawa State commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, Muhammed Mahmoud Fari has warned petroleum marketers in the state on the danger of increasing their pump Price, as he asked them to desist or risk 20 Year jail term.

Fari stated this during an operation conducted in Lafia municipal, as he read riot act to oil marketers to consider the interest of the populace above individual interest.

The commandant warned marketers hoarding product as well those selling above normal price, adding that any recalcitrant caught in illegal operation would face the consequences of their temerity.

No fewer than 5 officials of the various filling stations were apprehended for various offences.

“Is the primary mandate of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corp to nab oil marketers flouting federal government regulatory price”, he said.

He urged oil marketers on the need to acquire fire extinguisher, he also warned on filling stations operators not to sell to black marketers.

Some of the filling stations visited included Rainoil, a filling station with six dispensing machines but only one dispenser was selling PMS with the 8,000 liters of petrol available.

At Sandaji Filling station, a filling station owned by the chairman of oil marketers in Lafia, Abubakar Sandaji was selling at N150.00 as against N145.00

The Manager of the filling station, Musa was apprehended by NSCDC as 10,400 PMS product and 37,500 litres of kerosene with 24,600 liters of Diesel was available.

NATSON Petroleum was not selling due non-availability of products.

At Popsy filling stations only one dispenser was operating, it was discovered that PMS was 9,600 liters, 9,200 litres of Kerosene and 18,400 Diesel.

While Nagoda Mai Doya along Jos road, Gadanga Petroleum and Cafri Oil and Gas are out of service for sometimes now.

Other filling station visited and a truck loaded with Jaricans was impounded at Mai Gari General Resources at Shabu, a suburb of Lafia, the state capital the filling station with 55,400 litres of PMS was selling to black marketers only.

At A. H. Muhabsat Nigeria Limited,Shabu only one dispenser out of 8 was operational.

The Commandant commended the Proprietor of Imran Zaki Nigeria Limited, Zakari Alhassan for maintaining and abiding by the regulatory pump price of N145. 00.

At NNPC Mega NSCDC discovered 47,200 litres of PMS excluding AGO and Kerosene.

Mahmoud advice Customers to resist any sly increase in pump price by oil marketers.

Customers continued to shower encomium on the steps taking the Commandant.

He says the operation would be a continuous one.
