“Peace isn’t only the absence of war but the presence of justice”-Anonymous
For all to enjoy peace, there must be justice at work.
Since my open letter to the Governor last week, reactions have continually trailed the letter with some challenging my guts.
I have had reasons to receive calls from strange fellows who cannot differentiate their right from their left.
I am quite aware that even the likes of Idi Amin Dada of Uganda had die hard followers, who could lay down their lives for his administration.
Looking at Akwa Ibom youths, am tempted to write this piece to whoever will read it and have an historical linkage to the state.
Until you rise to challenge the wrongs in the system, you will be suppressed even in your land.
Odudu’s case was actually designed by God to happen. It is a test of fate.
I see this as a means to an end to future oppressions.
The attitude you display in Odudu’s issue will set a pace for the next administration to understand that the youths have a voice.
Its a pity that the administration of Godswill Akpabio, one of Nigeria’s celebrated governors outside this state will have to end this way.
The reality of him not having the apparatus of the state will set in on the eve of may 29th, 2015.
Looking at a bill board in Uyo, with an inscription,”Akpabio iya umiss.” Meaning, “Akpabio we will miss you.” I wondered what will be missed about the governor.
Certainly, we will miss the “UNCOMMON DETENTION” of individuals in the state. Since everything associated with the Governor is “UNCOMMON.”
In the words of Mandela,” When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace.
Real leaders must be ready to sacrifice all for the freedom of their people.
A fundamental concern for others in our individual and community lives would go a long way in making the world the better place we so passionately dreamt of..
For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
The youths, individuals, men and women of goodwill must obey the CLARION CALL on Wednesday, January 7,2015. As we march the streets of Uyo and its environs to demand for the #ReleaseOduduUkpanah.
The psalmist says in verse 59,”Deliver me from my enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.”
We are battling both physically and spiritually.
We must understand that never in history has darkness triumph over light.
It is a movement we must all key in and a victory we must believe in.
THIS IS OUR CHANCE. To correct the ills and set precedents for the security of the future of our children.
That Akwa Ibom youths should no longer be taken for granted.
I believe in you all that the clarion call to march for ODUDU UKPANAH will be obeyed on wednesday.
Please don’t sit on the fence anymore, join the struggle for FREEDOM!
I am ODUDUFIED,I don’t know about you.
