Impending Crisis Soon To Engulf Plateau APC, Party Ready To Crash If Lalong ,Latep Continue To Play Hid And Seek-Plateau APC Concerned Group Warns

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress congresses across the Nation, some stakeholders of the party in Plateau State has raised alarm of an impending conflicting directives which they said if not handled well may snowballed into crisis of many in the party.

 

According to Concern APC Stakeholders in press statements released by them have alleged that, the directive given by Governor Simon Bako Lalong is inconsistent with the directive from the national office with respect to the congresses to be conducted and that it has the tendency of causing serious threat to the party.

 

The group under the aegis of concerned All Progressive Congress, APC, stakeholders in Plateau state also raised concern that Lalong, Latep attitudes toward the stakeholders is leading the APC party to fractionalization that is so imminent.

 

They group disclosed that as the crisis hits the state it has been observed that there is a deliberate effort on the pipeline to install some antidemocratic tendencies in the annals of Plateau state APC.

 

In a press statement made available to our correspondent in Jos on Wednesday  the stakeholders said the widely publicized speech of His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong that the Congresses in the state should have some monitors different from the directives of the national leadership, adding that such will create a serious threat to the APC in the state and this could be a bad signal to president Buhari stand of fairness with the directive that Congresses be held at all levels.

 

Already ,”there are aspirants springing and warming up to contest in all the positions at all levels as directed by the leadership .Therefore ,any attempt to short change this decision will be counterproductive and this will spell doom for APC in the state”.

 

In a meeting of stakeholders across the seventeen LGA of the state, the Governor and his co-travelers are advised to shelf this idea and allow democracy to thrive or else there is likely going to be crisis in the party and fractionalization is imminent.

 

The Statement reads thus; “Gentlemen of the press, it has been observed that a deliberate effort is on the pipeline to install some Anti-democratic tendencies in the annals of Plateau state APC.

 

“The widely publicized speech of His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong that Congresses in the state should have some monitors different from the directives of the National Leadership is creating a serious threat to the APC in the state and this could be a bad signal to President Buhari’s stand of fairness with the directive that congresses be held at all levels.
